Meet Dr. Pompei

Dr. Renée Pompei is a Board-Certified Orthodontist who is passionate about helping each patient achieve his or her personal functional and esthetic goals for a beautiful, confident smile. She became an orthodontist after first spending five years as an analyst for a global professional client services/consulting firm, where she worked on large-scale computer systems development, management, and strategy projects.

After receiving orthodontic treatment herself as an adult, she was inspired to change careers, return to school for seven years, and pursue dentistry. This experience helped her truly listen for and understand the patient’s perspective. She places individual patient concerns and satisfaction as the top priority in treatment.

A published author herself, Dr. Pompei stays on top of the latest high-quality orthodontic research and participates in numerous continuing education conferences and seminars each year. She aims to always base patient treatment on what the best evidence available shows to be effective, safe, and efficient.

“I was born and raised in a suburb of Washington DC, Alexandria, VA, with my four sisters—no brothers! I stayed in Virginia for college but afterwards moved to Pittsburgh, PA where I lived for five years. Nearly ten years ago I moved to Manhattan and now plan to call myself a New Yorker for life.”

Favorite Music: “There’s no way to pick favorites! I know all the words to songs from musicians that range from John Butler Trio, Mason Jennings, or Billy Joel to the Beatles, Nirvana, Cake, Vampire Weekend, and Foster the People. I love to work out to pop, hip hop, and rap, and when I’m relaxing, Thievery Corporation, Dean Martin, Chopin, Louis Armstrong, or Broadway tunes might be playing in the background.”
